Airport pickup, Mughal Gardens and an evening shikara ride on Dal Lake. Overnight in Srinagar.
Srinagar to Kargil via Sonmarg & Zoji La
Drive over Zoji La pass, through Drass (one of the coldest inhabited places) and the Kargil war memorial. Overnight in Kargil.
Kargil to Leh
Via Lamayuru moonland, Magnetic Hill, Sangam and Pathar Sahib Gurudwara. Overnight in Leh.
Leh Acclimatisation & Local
Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace and Leh market, with rest to adjust to the altitude. Overnight in Leh.
Leh to Nubra via Khardung La
Cross Khardung La. Diskit Monastery, Hunder dunes and a camel ride. Overnight in Nubra.
Nubra to Pangong
Drive via the Shyok route to Pangong Lake. Sunset at the lake. Overnight in camps at Pangong.
Pangong to Leh via Chang La
Return to Leh over Chang La pass. Overnight in Leh.

The Srinagar-Leh highway is seasonal, typically open May to October. Outside these months the passes close. We will advise the best dates.
Is the altitude easier on this route?
Often yes — because you ascend gradually overland from Srinagar rather than flying straight into Leh, your body acclimatises more naturally. We still build in rest and carry oxygen.
Do I need permits?
Yes, Inner Line Permits for Nubra and Pangong — we arrange them. Carry government photo ID; children need a birth certificate.
